Hanabi is a creative platform that celebrates a shared appreciation for beautiful memories, stories and friendships with retail and programming. It aims to bring awareness to the simple joys of life through art, craft, food, drink, music, and books. The initiative was launched following a visit by founders Jackson Tan and Talia Huang to Kashiwazaki in the summer of 2017. There, they were introduced by fifth-generation craft maker of Souemon Imono, Satoshi Hara, to the Hanabi fireworks festival. Inspired by the beauty of the festival, the Hanabi brand mark features a firework motif that reflects a sense of joy and revelry, a homage to craftsmanship, and sincerity. It has since held its first showcase in Taipei’s Pon Ding 朋丁, featuring a selection of Satoshi Hara’s works and a limited edition sake cup set specially produced for the show.
